Device Repair & Service Policy
Welcome to iFixTechRepairs. By requesting service, booking a repair, or leaving a device with iFixTechRepairs, you agree to the terms outlined below. These policies apply to all phones, tablets, computers, gaming consoles, storage devices, and related electronics serviced by iFixTechRepairs.
Authorization to Service
By submitting a device for service, customers authorize iFixTechRepairs to perform diagnostics, repairs, and testing as needed. This may require opening the device and removing internal or external components. Technicians are authorized to carry out procedures deemed necessary to complete the requested service.
Parts & Display Disclosure
iFixTechRepairs may use OEM, high-grade aftermarket, basic aftermarket, refurbished, or compatible third-party parts depending on availability and customer preference.
Non-manufacturer parts may trigger system notifications such as:
- “Unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple display”
- “Battery health information not available”
- Similar manufacturer alerts
These notifications are part of manufacturer software systems and do not affect device safety.
Aftermarket or third-party displays may differ from original factory screens. Normal characteristics may include:
- Slight color tinting or brightness differences
- Reduced smoothness or refresh behavior changes
- Touch sensitivity variations
- Ghosting or delayed input
These characteristics are considered normal for non-OEM parts and do not indicate defective components.
All devices are tested for basic functionality before release.
Scope of Repair
Repairs apply only to the specific service requested. Repairing one component does not guarantee full device functionality.
Customers are responsible for disclosing all known issues, prior damage, liquid exposure, and repair history before service begins.
Hidden Damage & Diagnostic Limitations
Devices with limited functionality (including no power, black screens, no touch, boot looping, overheating, or intermittent operation) may contain underlying damage that cannot be detected before repair.
Certain functions cannot be tested until power or display is restored. Basic repairs such as screen, battery, or charging port replacement may reveal additional pre-existing issues once visibility or power returns.
Possible underlying conditions may include:
- Motherboard or logic board defects
- Signal or antenna failure
- Camera or biometric issues
- Audio problems
- Overheating or power instability
Some devices may ultimately be deemed unrepairable due to progressive or hidden component failure. iFixTechRepairs is not responsible for pre-existing, undisclosed, or latent defects.
Diagnostics & Repair Outcomes
Electronic repair is based on observed symptoms and testing. A reported issue may not represent the root cause, and multiple components may fail simultaneously. Replacing one part does not guarantee full resolution.
Diagnostic and labor fees apply regardless of outcome. Diagnostic fees are non-refundable once testing begins. Installed parts are non-refundable once opened or used. Unless stated in writing, no repair is guaranteed to resolve all issues.
Basic & Advanced Diagnostics
Basic troubleshooting may be provided at no charge. Advanced diagnostics involving deeper testing, software analysis, or extended labor may incur additional fees. Customers will be notified and must approve advanced diagnostics before work continues.
Advanced diagnostics do not guarantee repairability.
Testing, Acceptance & Device Release
Whenever possible, devices are tested with customers present. By accepting the device and leaving the premises, customers confirm that the repair was completed as agreed and functionality was demonstrated at pickup.
After release, iFixTechRepairs is not responsible for unrelated or newly reported issues.
Warranty & Refund Policy
All repairs include a 30-day limited warranty on replacement parts only, covering manufacturer defects.
If a replacement part is confirmed defective within 30 days, iFixTechRepairs will repair or replace the affected part at no additional cost. Refunds are issued only if a defective replacement part cannot be successfully replaced.
This warranty does not cover:
- Physical damage, drops, cracks, or impact damage
- Liquid or moisture damage (before or after repair)
- Devices previously exposed to water or severe impact
- Tampering or repairs performed by anyone other than iFixTechRepairs
- Damage caused by misuse, pressure, bending, or accidents
- Motherboard, logic board, or internal component failures
- Cosmetic imperfections or performance characteristics of aftermarket parts
- Issues unrelated to the original repair
Devices with prior impact or liquid exposure may experience progressive internal failure over time. Strong impacts can cause microscopic motherboard damage that may later affect new parts. Liquid damage may continue spreading internally days or weeks after service.
iFixTechRepairs is not responsible for failures caused by pre-existing damage, latent defects, impact stress, or progressive corrosion.
Once a device has been tested and accepted at pickup, iFixTechRepairs is not responsible for unrelated issues reported afterward.
Data Responsibility
Data loss is always possible during service. Customers are responsible for backing up all data before repair. iFixTechRepairs is not liable for loss of files, photos, programs, or personal information.
Passcodes may be requested solely for testing purposes. Customers may remain present during testing if preferred.
Abandoned Devices & Storage Fees
Devices must be collected within 30 days of repair completion notification. Devices not picked up within 30 days will incur a $20 storage fee.
Devices uncollected after 45 days may be considered abandoned and recycled, disposed of, or used for parts to recover outstanding balances. Any remaining data may be permanently erased.
All diagnostic, repair, and storage fees remain owed regardless of pickup.
Data Recovery Services
Data recovery is provided on a best-effort basis with no guarantee of success. Results may include partial data, corrupted files, device failure, or no recoverable data.
Payment is required upfront for all data recovery services. Once recovery begins, fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome.
Recovery attempts may worsen existing damage or render devices nonfunctional. iFixTechRepairs is not responsible for data loss or device failure related to recovery efforts.
Limitation of Liability
Maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service performed. iFixTechRepairs is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use, data loss, or future hardware failures.
Dispute Resolution
Customers agree to contact iFixTechRepairs directly to attempt resolution before initiating chargebacks, payment disputes, or legal action.
Right to Refuse Service
iFixTechRepairs reserves the right to refuse service at its discretion.
Customer Acceptance
By requesting service from iFixTechRepairs, customers acknowledge they have read and understood this policy, accept the risks associated with electronic repair and data recovery, and authorize iFixTechRepairs to perform diagnostic and repair services. Digital acceptance constitutes a legally binding agreement.
